20th Annual Harry W. Buzzatto Memorial

College Scholarships Awarded

By the Rotary Club of Bridgeville - South Fayette

On Thursday May 7th, 2009 the Bridgeville-South Fayette Rotary Club conducted its 20th annual Scholarship and Middle School Recognition Luncheon at the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bridgeville.

The club recognized 18 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from Chartiers Valley, Holy Child, and South Fayette for their community service and overall excellence as a middle school student.

The  families of the students were also in attendance as well as faculty members from each of the schools who introduced their students.

The club also awarded Harry W. Buzzatto Rotary College Scholarships in the amount of $500 each to four high school seniors, two from Chartiers Valley and two South Fayette High Schools..

.

The Bethany Woman's Fellowship served all an excellent home cooked lunch with all of the trimmings.

A good time was had by all and everyone there left with the confident feeling that our future is in good hands judging by the quality of the students who were recognized that day.

Local Charities Benefit Once Again from Our

22nd Annual Hickory Wintery Golf Classic

BoogieWe would like to thank all of our valued sponsors, golf pro Sam Depe, the new owner of Hickory Heights Golf Club and of course the 138 golfers who braved the wintery elements to make our 22nd annual Wintery Golf Classic a great success.

It is the generosity of the people in our community and our local businesses that allowed us to raise almost $11,000 all of which will be used to benefit needy people here in our community. This makes all our efforts worthwhile and encourage us to work even harder in the future. We are also very pleased to say that after twenty two years of winter golf classics, an unusually high percentage of our sponsors and golfers have returned year after year. It is this perpetual community support that allows our Rotary Club to have such an effective impact on the charities we support and we hope we can count on your participation again next year.

Thank you all once again  . . .

. . . for helping us help others!

2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off . . .  A Great Success!
Over 500 friends joined the Bridgeville-South Fayette Rotary Club at their 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off at Fairview Park on Sunday afternoon October 12th.  The weather was great and all involved enjoyed live country music as they sampled the flavors of 22 different chili recepies. A great time was had by all. Once again, our most sincere thanks to our Sponsors, Donors, and Chili Cookers.
